1 Cubic Yard Debris Tote Review
This was the 6th fall that I used my 1 Cubic Yard Debris Tote from Gardener’s Edge for my fallen leaves.
Anybody can sing praises on a new product, but I have now used it successfully for 6 years now. It may be a bit dirty now, but it is still in excellent condition and has been a work saver every fall.

I grind and compost my leaves every fall. The compost pile is over 100 feet from most of our leaves. That means hauling from the front yard to the back of the backyard.
I used to use my wheelbarrow. That was a chore and lots and lots of trips.
A.M. Leonard’s Gardener’s Edge
Leaves in the fall are the only thing I use mine for. I bought it to make hauling easier.
They say it is usable for any yard debris work; leaves, sticks, stones, or whatever. According to their catalog, it will hold up to 1 ton of materials. There are 4 large straps attached at the corners. I will have to take their word on that.
The tote is made of heavy woven poly material with a heavier bottom. It measures 35 inches by 35 inches and 38 inches high. I have dragged mine, while loaded, through the yard and down my gravel driveway. Not just once, but many times.
I stuff mine and pack them down. Stuff more in and continue. I have dragged a loaded tote by the handles or hauled it on my cart. If you have a small tractor and cart, that would work well also.
The tote comes in handy for containing the leaves while I grind them as well. I use my blower/vac and suck up the leaves right out of the tote.
Fold and store
At the end of the job, it folds up into a convenient 18 inches by 24 inches and can easily be stored until the next time it is needed.
I strongly believe this was well worth the investment for what I wanted it to do. It has served me well and I believe it will continue to do so. I look forward to several more years of use from my tote.
The only fault I see with this tote is the fact it doesn’t stand open on its own. If working by myself, it is harder to load it with the leaves because it won’t stand up and stay open until there are some leaves inside. It works best when another person can hold it open while I load the leaves.
